Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of the 8th Race. PUTCHINI was slow into stride. OBI WAN KENOBI lost 1 length. CANIGAO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. COMMANDTOCONQUER and BEACH BREAK made contact and became unbalanced shortly after the start. This resulted in CHESTNUT GROVE being squeezed out, losing position. Jockey Samuel, the rider of COLOUR WHEEL, reported his saddle slipped forward shortly after the start. Thereafter COLOUR WHEEL raced wide on the bend. SHIP AHOY raced green and raced wide on the bend. COMMANDTOCONQUER over-raced in the early stages and raced wide on the bend. In view of the performances of SHIP AHOY, COLOUR WHEEL and COMMANDTOCONQUER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these colts and this gelding. JAMZIG over-raced in the early stages. Vet: SHIP AHOY, COLOUR WHEEL and COMMANDTOCONQUER - nothing obvious detected. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
