Jockey Khumalo did not ride in today's race meeting due to being medically indisposed. Jockey Naude did not ride in today's race meeting due to flight complications. The start of this race was delayed due to the withdrawal of MINNAROOM at the start by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. NEW ORLEANS SHINE was hanging in, in the final straight. NEW ORLEANS SHINE shifted inwards at the 600 metre mark, which resulted in SALINGER becoming cramped for galloping room, unbalanced and having to ease. This in turn resulted in CHESTNUT CHIEF and GOLDEN RUN having to switch out off the heels of SALINGER and DREAMFOREST having to ease. Apprentice Murray signed an Admission of Guilt for the contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SALINGER passing the 600 metre mark whilst riding NEW ORLEANS SHINE. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. In view of the performance of CHESTNUT CHIEF and SALINGER, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. GOLDEN RUN was hanging in, in the latter stages. DREAMFOREST was hanging in, in the straight. ROMAN GARRISON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CHESTNUT CHIEF and SALINGER - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: MINNAROOM - lame left fore, withdrawn at the start by the Course Veterinary Surgeon.
