GALAXY KING and OVAR were restless in the stalls. OVAR was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. The Off time of this race was rescheduled at the request of Phumelela. SAINT DONAN shifted in leaving the 200m and carried RED REX in onto BREATHLESS BERTIE, which was forced to ease off the heels of DURBAN BEACH for a number of strides. Apprentice Fortune, the rider of SAINT DONAN, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners when he shifted in at the 200m. Apprentice Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. Apprentice May was charged with a contravention, in that he rode LEDBURY in an unprofessional manner when he dropped his crop at the 200m. Apprentice May signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. SAINT DONAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CHENNAI SPICE - returned with an overreach wound on the right fore. GALAXY KING - returned with speedy cuts on the left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
