Apprentice Carstens reported that MOONLIGHT RUNNER did not stride out freely in running. MOONLIGHT RUNNER was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop, brushing the outside running rail on two occasions leaving the 200m. Apprentice Carstens was charged with a contravention in that he failed to keep his mount MOONLIGHT RUNNER on a straight course parallel to the running rail and relative to the draw position until a point not less than 200 metres from the start. Apprentice Carstens signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. NORTHERN CORNER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MOONLIGHT RUNNER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: MARCH ON - lame on the right fore.
