PARTY MAGIC lost 1 length. SPURWING SUMMER lost 2 lengths. GLOBAL SPIN commenced to give ground to the field from the 800m. In view of the performance from MODERN MUSE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Assistant Trainer de Kock was requested to report back on the condition of MODERN MUSE on return to the stables. Apprentice Patel signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to ride the horse SPURWING SUMMER out to the end of the race. The Board, when deciding on the sanction of a fine, took into account that they could not be reasonably satisfied that Apprentice Patel had cost himself fourth position, however, that he was still in contravention of the Rules. A P'S LILY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MODERN MUSE raced equipped with alumite shoes in front, steel behind. Vet: CELTIC HEROINE - post race distress. MODERN MUSE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. GLOBAL SPIN - fatigued; speedy cut right hind. Scratched: LAUREL CHERRY - no suitable jockey available . The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
