The start of this Race was delayed due to OVERHEATHER having to be resaddled. OFF THE COAST stood, losing 5 lengths. The starting stalls certificate for this filly has been withdrawn and it was suspended for a period of 7 days and until recertified tractable. GINGER SIOUX was slow into stride. KARTOUCHE was slow, losing 2 lengths. Apprentice Marwing reported that OVERHEATHER took no interest in running. Apprentice Munger reported that he felt something amiss with STYLED TO ROCK and did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. DROSTDY GIRL had to steady in the concluding stages off the heels of AVATARA, which shifted out sharply away from the crop. An objection was lodged by Trainer Human, the trainer of DROSTDY GIRL, placed second, against AVATARA being declared the winner on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol films of the race, was of the opinion that DROSTDY GIRL would have finished in front of AVATARA, therefore upheld the objection and amended the judge's result. Trainer Human's deposit was refunded. Jockey Simons signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he, as the rider of AVATARA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DROSDTY GIRL when he shifted out sharply in the closing stages. The Board took into consideration that AVATARA shifted out sharply and was immediately straightened and therefore imposed a penalty of a Warning. AVATARA, placed second on objection, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: OVERHEATHER - not striding out right front. STYLED TO ROCK - not striding out right front.
