ROMAN GARRISON was nervous in the stalls and reared. ALL THE BIDS was slow into stride. GANGNAM STYLE was slow away and lost 2 lengths. Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with VAVASOUR and eased him out of the race at the 400 metre mark. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer Bremner was requested to monitor this gelding over the next 48 hours and report back anything untoward to the Stipendiary Board. Jockey Khathi reported that RICHARD STRAUSS choked up in the running and he did not persevere with his ride over the final 200 metres. Jockey van der Merwe reported that ROMAN GARRISON made abnormal respiratory noise in the running and he did not persevere with his ride in the closing stages. STORMING HOME was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: RICHARD STRAUSS and VAVASOUR - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. ROMAN GARRISON - speedy cut right hind inner fetlock. Scratched: ROBERTSON - not on course.
