SPEED LIMIT was restless in the stalls. Trainer Snaith will be advised to have this colt re-schooled before its next engagement. CRAZY CONNOR became fractious and was caught beneath gate 11. Thereafter crawled underneath the starting stalls and exited under stall gate 6. Trainer Kotzen will be advised that this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and is to be repassed on a race day. The field was then unloaded and the Veterinary Surgeon examined all the horses from stall gate 11 to stall gate 6, and the Veterinary Surgeon withdrew CRAZY CONNOR, causing a delay. In view of the performance from NIGHT SIGN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. SPEED LIMIT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: NIGHT SPIN - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. BENJAN, HERACLES, PATROCLUS and CAPTAIN SPLENDID - taken out the starting stalls, examined, declared fit to race and were reloaded. Scratched: CRAZY CONNOR - reared, got stuck under adjacent horses, taken out through back gate, was withdrawn. CECIL JOHN - kicked by CRAZY CONNOR and was withdrawn. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
