THREE BLUE CRANES jumped awkwardly losing one length and was slow into stride. WAITY KATIE shifted in slightly away from the crop approaching the 150m and brushed FRANCIA, which shifted in and carried CASEY'S JET inwards. Trainer Snaith lodged an Objection on behalf of FRANCIA, declared 4th, against WAITY KATIE being declared 3rd, on the grounds of interference at about the 150m. After reviewing the patrol films and considering all the evidence heard, the Board was of the opinion that but for this incident FRANCIA would not have finished ahead of WAITY KATIE and therefore overruled the Objection and therefore the Judges' result stands. The deposit was refunded. In view of the performance from SILVER RAIN, which was hanging out throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the stables and submit a report. THREE BLUE CRANES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SILVER RAIN - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
