SILVAN STAR, which was restless in the stalls, was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. SILVAN STAR, which was racing green, was held up for a clear run approaching the 200m and switched out. Simultaneously, GOODTIME GAL shifted in slightly away from the crop, which resulted in SILVAN STAR having to switch out further to continue his run. Jockey Andrews rider of the 2nd placed horse, SILVAN STAR, lodged an Objection against GOODTIME GAL being declared the winner on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Board, after reviewing the patrol films and considering all the evidence heard, was of the opinion that but for this incident SILVAN STAR would not have finished ahead of GOODTIME GAL and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges' result to stand. The deposit was refunded. Jockey Khathi was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C, in that he struck GOODTIME GAL more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. GOODTIME GAL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Khathi rode GOODTIME GAL. The Club's Medical Officer stood down Jockey Orffer on medical grounds, to be re-assessed before the next race meeting. Vet: FROMAFAR - returned having cast the left fore shoe in running. Scratched: BABY BE MINE - not eating up. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
