The 9th Race was delayed due to the late arrival of the horses to the start. SHOOT THE BULL, REACTIVE and THE MONEY MAN were all slow into stride. SOUTH PAW and JACK THE KNIFE both lost 1 length. JACK THE KNIFE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BLESSED RELEASE jumped outwards at the start carrying PETISCOS CHOOK and in turn SHOOT THE BULL outwards. BLESSED RELEASE was inconvenienced on the inside of REACTIVE near the 50 metre mark. THE MONEY MAN was hanging out badly in the straight and was difficult to assist. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Nyawo reported that ROY'S FLAME took no interest in running. SOUTH PAW raced green. LATERAL DANCER raced with his tongue tied down. ROY'S FLAME raced fitted with cheek-pieces and with his tongue tied down. SOUTH PAW raced unshod. Vet: THE MONEY MAN - nothing obvious detected. ROY'S FLAME - fatigued. SHOOT THE BULL - abnormal respiratory noise. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
