The Medical Officer reported that that Jockey Randolph was reassessed before the 1st Race and declared fit to ride. KING'S AFFAIR was squeezed out shortly after the start and was slow into stride. AUTHORICE and MR PRESIDENT were both slow into stride. KEPT SECRET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Impey was questioned regarding the improved performance of KEPT SECRET compared to this mare's previous run on the 6.12.2015 at Scottsville Racecourse. She explained to the Board that in her opinion this mare was better suited to races around the bend. She was further of opinion that the yielding conditions that prevailed on that occasion had not suited this mare. Her explanations were noted. Jockey Sturgeon reported that AUTHORICE was making an abnormal respiratory noise post-race. In view of the performance of MARIA ESTELLA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. MR PRESIDENT returned post-race having cast the right fore shoe. Vet: AUTHORICE - respiratory noise. MARIA ESTELLA - nothing obvious detected. MR PRESIDENT - not striding out left hind.
