SHADOWLAND, GRANADILLA and QUINTUS ANGEL were stubborn loading and slow into stride. FLYING SQUAW was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. ANNAMARIE (S Khathi) overraced in the early stages. SHADOWLAND (W Agrella) shifted both ways from the crop from the 400m. Thereafter, was carried in marginally in the concluding stages by FLYING SQUAW (L Bester). At approximately the 300m, Jockey D R Lerena (GRANADILLA) briefly dropped his right side rein. At approximately the 1200m, KOUNIA BELLA (J Mariba), FORRIES ON FRIDAY (S Naidoo) and CYBER SECURITY (L Mxothwa) suffered varying degrees of interference when tightened for galloping room on the inside of SOUTHERN DYNASTY (S Fortune) who in turn received pressure from GRANADILLA (D R Lerena) which rolled in. Jockeys S Fortune and D R Lerena appeared before the Board, were shown the patrol film of this incident and were advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future. Trainer G D Smith will be requested to report back on the condition of this filly upon return to the stables. The winner GRANADILLA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer M L Turner advised (LM). SOUTHERN DYNASTY raced without a tongue tie (08:58 - 24/07/2020).
