The start of this race was delayed due to an adjustment to the equipment of REVELATION. REVELATION and CHAMPIONS CUP were restless in the stalls. Trainer Goosen and Trainer Zackey were advised to re-school their mounts prior to their next engagements. Jockey Sturgeon reported that MAGIC JONES took no interest in running. In view of the performance of REVELATION, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Goosen was advised to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. In view of the performance of GRAND CLASSIC, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. TRUSTY OLIVER was difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. WOODY GLOW shifted out sharply away from the crop in the concluding stages. WOODY GLOW was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: REVELATION - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. MAGIC JONES - examined post race, no significant findings. WOODY GLOW - abnormal respiratory noise. GRAND CLASSIC - coughing. Scratched: BANK MANAGER - pulled left hamstring.
