FLICHITY BY FARR (S Moodley) and WEALTHY (S Veale) lost one length, respectively. FACTOR FIFTY (G Lerena) repeatedly kicked the back gates, was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was advised to re-school this filly. At the 300m, Apprentice J Gates' (WILDLIFE SAFARI) crop became briefly entangled with his reins. Approaching the 300m, when attempting to improve between SILVER ROSE (K de Melo) and WILDLIFE SAFARI (*J Gates), IMPERIAL RUBY (C Zackey) was momentarily held-up and had to switch out in order to obtain a clear run. At the 200m, SILVER ROSE (K de Melo) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of SHENANIGANS (L Hewitson) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey W Kennedy signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM more than 12 times in the entire Race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey W Kennedy the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey W Kennedy struck the horse DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey W Kennedy used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford advised (LN). FLITCHITY BY FARR raced without blinkers (advised 24.07.2020/17h02). POMANDER raced equipped with blinkers (advised 22.07.2020/20h56). WILDLIFE SAFARI was ridden by Apprentice J Gates. Reserve runner (advised 24.07.2020/13h47). PAYBACKTHEMONEY Jockey M Yeni weighed out at 51.4kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. VET : IMPERIAL RUBY : Severe post race distress.
