ALZERRA and SWANEE RIVER were both slow into stride. NEWS WEEKLY and TOLL FREE both lost 1 length. VOGUE IDEA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ACADEMY PRINCESS was steadied off the heels of VOGUE IDEA at approximately the 400 metre mark. Jockey Delpech reported that he felt something amiss with ALZERRA and as a result eased his mount out over the final 300 metres. Jockey Nyawo reported that NEWS WEEKLY was changing legs continuously in running. Jockey Randolph reported that he felt something amiss with TOLL FREE in running. Apprentice Mjoka, the rider of MOGOKITY, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. Due to a change of ownership, the Ownership of ACADEMY PRINCESS should read: Adv. S M Shepstone, Mr C G Eudey, Chantarelle Farm & Mrs J M Eudey; and the Colours are: silver grey, royal blue crossed sashes and cap. Due to a change of ownership, the Ownership of MADAME LE ROI should read: Mesdames R Leheup & B M A Lahoud, Messrs J Di Blasio & Allan F Peters; and the Colours remain the same. Vet: ALZERRA - nothing obvious detected. Assistant Trainer Badenhorst advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this mare on return to stables. NEWS WEEKLY - not striding out right hind and coughing post race. TOLL FREE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: CRACKPOT - elevated temperature. MAD PUSHPA - change of date. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
