A race review was called into the start of this race and the Stipendiary Board established that VAR BAY, in stall gate number 3, reared after the start was effected and therefore took no further action. VAR BAY was declared a runner. Jockey Strydom reported that NATIONAL KEY did not stride out freely in running. TABREEK (AUS) was difficult to settle in the early stages.
