QUICK STEP ROSIE was slow away and lost 2 lengths. SEPTEMBER STORM was slow away and lost 1 length. SEPTEMBER STORM switched out around the field shortly after the start due to the slow pace and went up to join the front runners. Apprentice Ramsamy reported that he felt something amiss with JUDSTONE in the running. BELLE JULIETTE over-raced in the early stages. STONE TOWN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Strydom was questioned regarding the improved performance of STONE TOWN, compared to its previous performance on the 30th November 2015. Trainer Strydom explained that this mare may be better suited to the 1600 metres and benefitted from a 53 day rest. The Board noted this explanation.
