TAMARIND, NIGHT EDITOR, CANADIAN MOUNTIE and TEAGAN'S BOY were slow into stride. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with TAMARIND in running and did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. Jockey Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with DON CHRISTO in running and did not persevere with his ride from the 500m. RAINBOW STAR was hanging in throughout and difficult to assist. CANNES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ROCK ON REBEL AND DON CHRISTO raced equipped with steel shoes. Vet: TAMARIND - not striding out right front; coughing. DON CHRISTO - not striding out left front. Veterinary report required prior to entry. SIR CECIL - scalped right hind. Scratched: NIGHT MARCH and SALUTE THE SUN - insufficient recovery time. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for breathalyser tests and the taking of urine samples for analysis.
