ALIYSA'S PRIZE (ARG) and HOIST THE MAST jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. Apprentice van der Hoven reported that HOT AFFAIR did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performance from TUMBLES, which tired quickly in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. RED MOON AT NIGHT was awkwardly placed on the heels of PETALA in the concluding stages. ACACIAWOOD and HOIST THE MAST were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice May, claiming a 2,5kg apprentice allowance, rode DIXIE EXPRESS. This change was made in due time with Stewards permission and with the mutual consent of all the connections. Vet: TUMBLES - returned not striding out, making an abnormal respiratory noise and in post race distress. HOT AFFAIR - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: PROMICING POLLY - injured in transit.
