CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls and lost two lengths.
SANCTITY (S Moodley) was restless in the stalls. Trainer L Forbes was advised to re-school this colt.
RAIN MUST FALL (G Lerena) was stubborn to load. Trainer M Miller was advised to re-school this gelding.
EL TORERO (S Veale) and GREEN PHANTOM (A Arries) lost two lengths, respectively.
BLACK AND GOLD (*J Mphanya) lost three lengths.
VALENCIA (*T Gumede) was hanging in throughout.
BERNIE'S DREAM (*J Gates) was hanging in from the 500m.
At the 400m, BATTLE OF STIRLING (R Fourie) was cramped for galloping room when awkwardly placed between RAIN MUST FALL (G Lerena) which rolled in and BRABANZIO (*J Jacobs) which was hanging out from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter at the 200m, RAIN MUST FALL (G Lerena) was momentarily inconvenienced and had to shift in when awkwardly placed on the heels of BRABANZIO (*J Jacobs). Apprentice J Jacobs (BRABANZIO) appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of this Race and reminded of his obligations to take all reasonable measures to keep his mounts on a straight course.
In the concluding stages, GREEN PHANTOM (A Arries) and CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) were tightened for galloping room when awkwardly placed on the inside of FREEDOM DANCER (*K Sakayi) which was hanging in from the 150m.
LORD WYLIE (D Dillon) was hanging in from the 250m.
TAI GOLD (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (SC).
GREEN PHANTOM was ridden by Jockey A Arries (advised 27.07.2020/13h38) and this gelding raced equipped with blinkers (advised 27.07.2020/16h43). Reserve runner.
VALENCIA was ridden by Apprentice T Gumede (claiming 2.5kg). (Travel complications).
