WAITING FOR RAIN jumped awkwardly outwards losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. The start time was rescheduled due to the delay in the previous race. In view of the performance from ARACHNE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of TIN SOLDIER, was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he used his crop with excessive frequency leaving the 400m. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. ANNIGONI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Khathi rode KILRAIN. This change was made in due time with Stewards permission and with the mutual consent of all the connections. KILRAIN raced fitted with a tongue tie. Vet: ARACHNE - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
