ADMIRE ME (A Mgudlwa) and TARAJI (G Wright) lost one length, respectively.
TREASURED PEARL (A Arries) became fractious in the stalls and reared. This filly was subsequently, unloaded, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn.
At the 1200m, NETTA (L Hewitson) was carried out by WINGS OF FIRE (C Murray) which over-raced in the early stages.
At the 200m, NIRVANA GIRL (W Kennedy) and ADMIRE ME (A Mgudlwa) came together and bumped. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, NIRVANA GIRL had to ease when awkwardly placed between ADMIRE ME (A Mgudlwa) which shifted out away from the crop from the 300m and MY LADY (C Zackey) which shifted in between the 150m and the 100m. In assessing this incident the Board noted that ADMIRE ME (A Mgudlwa) and MY LADY (C Zackey) had contributed in varying degrees in respect of the above incident. Due to the level of error involved with both riders, the Board elected to treat this matter as more than a racing incident and issued both Mr C Zackey and Jockey A Mgudlwa with admissions of guilt for contraventions of Rule 62.2.7. However, due to blame being apportioned to more than one rider, a penalty of a warning was imposed respectively.
In view of the Starter's report with regard to TREASURED PEARL (A Arries), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 30.07.2020 to the 05.08.2020. TREASURED PEARL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M Miller was advised. (SH)
NETTA (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (TN).
