POLITICAL POWER cast a left front shoe on the way to the start which was replaced by the farrier, causing a delay to the start of the race. SHEPHERDS PURSE hesitated as the start was effected, thereafter jumped slowly losing four lengths and was slow into stride. Trainer Steyn will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before his next engagement. Jockey Khathi was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse KWASSA KWASSA, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of rider. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that ASTRAPI was not striding out in running. CUBAN EMERALD and VALERIO were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Byleveld rode SHEPHERDS PURSE. This change was made in due time with Stewards permission and with the mutual consent of all the connections. Vet: ASTRAPI - returned not striding out both front.
