JUNIPER LANE (K de Melo) and WINDY FLIGHT (S Randolph) lost one length, respectively. ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) (J Samuel) lost two lengths. SWAGGER JAGGER (*T Gumede) was hanging in from the 300m. At the 200m, Apprentice T Gumede adjusted his hold on the reins of SWAGGER JAGGER. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse MAA NONU more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse MAA NONU, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Moodley used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a fine of R1500 was imposed. MAA NONU (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Forbes advised (TN).
