AS YOU LIKE jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Khathi was charged with a contravention in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse MILTON, which was the weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of rider. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. In view of the performance from NIGHT TRIP, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that he felt something amiss with HEARTLAND in running. Jockey Dillon reported that ASHTON PARK did not stride out freely in running. BIG CAT was hanging out throughout. SAIL SOUTH was carried out by HARD DAY'S NIGHT, which was hanging out and difficult to assist between the 300m and 200m. BIG CAT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Carstens rode MILTON. Jockey Khathi weighed 54,9kg and was unable to make the weight as agreed with the Trainer when he was engaged. Vet: NIGHT TRIP and ASHTON PARK - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. HEARTLAND - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise and was not striding out in front.
