BISHOP'S CHOICE was nervous in the stalls. GIFT OF GOLD was slow into stride. JUDD'S JOY was slow away and lost 1 length. The start of this race was delayed due to the withdrawal of MY FRIEND FRED and BOARDING CALL. In view of the Starter's report concerning and BOARDING CALL's previous record, this mare is suspended for 30 days and is to be recertified tractable prior to racing again. Jockey Khumalo felt something amiss with FALLING SKY approaching the 900 metre mark and eased his mount out of the race. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer McLachlan was requested to monitor this gelding over the next 48 hours and report back to the Stipendiary Board. Jockey Yeni reported THE KING'S HAND was not striding out freely in the running. THE STONES brushed the inside running rail approaching the 400 metre mark and steadied. ROMAN GARRISON was hanging inwards and the saddle slipped sideways on the turn entering the home straight and Jockey Kennedy could not fully assist his mount over the final 200 metres. Jockey Devoy reported that he felt something amiss with GIFT OF GOLD in the running. CAPTAIN SLIPPER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: THE KING'S HAND and BURLAINE FOREST - coughed post race. ROMAN GARRISON and FALLING SKY - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. GIFT OF GOLD - not striding out behind. Scratched: MY FRIEND FRED - not striding out in front, withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. BOARDING CALL - refused to load, intractable.
