RISING SUNSET jumped outwards and carried SEA SPRAY and LOVAR outwards. Jockey Behr reported that MOONBLANCHED did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performance from SEA SPRAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Byleveld reported that he felt something amiss with SPEEDBALL in running. SPEEDBALL became severely unbalanced at about the 200m when FAIRY MAKER shifted out into a narrow gap and made contact with the hind quarters of SPEEDBALL, which rolled in slightly. CHASING DREAMS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SPEEDBALL - returned suffering from an epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa. MOONBLANCHED - returned not striding out both fore. SEA SPRAY - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. DISNEY QUEEN - returned coughing. Scratched: HANABI - not eating up. NINA KATRINA - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
