Jockey Zechner, the rider of DUFFI'S CALL, had to switch off the heels of MATHEMATICIAN in the closing stages of the race, due to this horse shifting outwards away from the crop. Apprentice Murray appeared before the Stipendiary Board and was spoken to about his ride on MATHEMATICIAN. The Stipendiary Board reminded Apprentice Murray that he must take every precaution to keep his mount straight. No further action was taken by the Stipendiary Board.
