TRUSTY JIM and TRUSTY TROY lost one length. Jockey Zackey was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ride the horse ODD ROB out to the end of the race. Jockey Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. TRUSTY JIM and TRUSTY TROY over-raced in the early stages. TRIP TO TROY shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. COPTIC CROSS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NIGHT RAIDER and LADY MAHER (AUS) raced with a tongue tie on. Scratched: SAN JULIAN BAY - cut into right hind. After the running of race 3, a severe electrical thunderstorm moved in over Turffontein Racecourse which caused a delay to the running of Race 4. After a delay of more than an hour and further lightning strikes in close proximity, it was the unanimous decision to abandon races 4 - 8 due to the unsafe overhead conditions. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
