REBEL RAIN was slow into stride. HANNAH'S ANSWER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Whitehead was questioned with regard to the improved performance of HANNAH'S ANSWER compared to this filly's previous performance on the 29 January 2016. The only explanation she could offer was that this filly suffered interference in the early stages whilst trying to overcome a poor draw over 1400 metres. The Board adjourned to review the previous performance of HANNAH'S ANSWER. Apprentice Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in the latter stages. JUST RAP was steadied off the heels of AIRTIME and was switched in to obtain a clear run entering the straight. Jockey Lembethe, the rider of REBEL RAIN, accidentally dropped his off side rein shortly before the finish. AIRTIME raced with steel shoes and not alumites as carded. Vet: AIRTIME - scalped right hind.
