The start of this race was delayed due to the late scratching of JUST AFRICA and to allow the betting public to re-structure their bets. TURBO TOM and CLEAN CUT lost three lengths. STRIKING POSE was awkwardly placed on the heels of BUSTER POSY (ZIM) in the closing stages. In the concluding stages MAGIC was awkwardly placed between DREAM LEADER and LED ZEPPELIN, which rolled in marginally. An Objection was lodged by the Trainer Mr Erasmus of the 4th placed horse, MAGIC, against the winner, LED ZEPPELIN, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Board after having regard to patrol films of the race and hearing the evidence presented by the parties concerned, overruled the Objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. LED ZEPPELIN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Scratched: JUST AFRICA - bolted the course. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
