ARMORIAL was nervous in the stalls. Jockey Zechner reported that he felt something amiss with FORT NAVIDAD and eased this gelding out of the race at the 900 metre mark. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer Sham was advised to monitor this gelding over the next 48 hours and report back to the Stipendiary Board. BISHOP'S CHOICE steadied and switched in off the heels of ACE ANTONIUS, who was tiring passing the 300 metre mark. FOREST VIEW was hanging inwards over the final 200 metres. Jockey Webber reported that he felt something amiss with FOREST VIEW in the running. Jockey Khathi reported that he felt something amiss with CAPSTONE VON KLUH in the running. Apprentice Murray reported DR FINLEY took no interest in the running. DEFINITIVE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Strydom was questioned regarding the improved performance of this gelding compared to its last run on the 19/02/2016. Trainer Strydom explained that this was this gelding's 3rd run for the stable and he had equipped it with blinkers which may have accounted for the improved performance. This explanation was noted. NATIONAL KING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CAPSTONE VON KLUH - bilateral epistaxis, 60 day suspension. DR FINLEY and FOREST VIEW - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. FORT NAVIDAD - tied up behind. The Course Farrier on duty reported that the shoes of all the runners engaged at today's race meeting were checked and confirmed with the rules. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations conformed.
