During the loading process, LADY SECRET (M Thackeray) broke open the front gate. This filly was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded.
JACKO BOY (R Simons) was slow losing one length.
LONELY NIGHT (*J R Syster) stood losing many lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn.
In view of the Starter's report with regard to LONELY NIGHT, this filly has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 31 July 2020 to 6 August 2020. LONELY NIGHT may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer M Mahiakola advised (JB).
In the concluding stages LOUVAIN (J Sampson) was carried in marginally by KAPAMA (*N Klink) which hung in from the 400m.
An Objection was lodged by the rider of the 4th placed horse LOUVAIN (J Sampson) against the 3rd placed horse LEAGUE OF HER OWN (*C F Dicken) on the grounds of intimidation in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol films of this incident and giving regard to the evidence presented by all parties, was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the Objection. The Judges result stands. Jockey Sampson's deposit was refunded.
LEAGUE OF HER OWN (*C F Dicken) hung in from the 300m.
ELUSIVE FORCE (*L J Ferraris), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter advised (LN).
LEAGUE OF HER OWN raced unshod (declared 22 July 2020 at 07H50) and equipped with blinkers (declared 27 July 2020 at 12H59).
LOUVAIN Jockey J Sampson weighed out at 55,5kg.
COUNTESS TRENTON Jockey C Maujean weighed out at 54kg.
LADY SECRET raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 23 July 2020 at 14H39).
