REGAL ROSE jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. PLAY DATE lost 1 length. A race review was called into the start of this race. It was established that the handler in stall gate number 10 still had the horse MODJADJI in hand at the time the start was effected. This resulted in MODJADJI being impeded by the handler. Accordingly, MODJADJI was declared a non-runner. KIRSTEN'S PRIDE cast its right front shoe in running. In view of the performance from this filly, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine KIRSTEN'S PRIDE. DUKES DIME cast its left front shoe in running. PLAY DATE was bumped shortly after the start by REGAL ROSE, which jumped outwards. PLAY DATE had to switch out in the closing stages to avoid the heels of ROXY LADY Jockey Zechner reported that he felt something amiss with BY JOVE in running. Jockey van Rensburg reported that DELIGHTED made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. DEFINING LOOKS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Alexander was questioned regarding the improved performance of DEFINING LOOKS. He could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out Running. Vet: KIRSTEN'S PRIDE - blowing heavily post race; cut into right hind. MODJADJI - not striding out right front. BY JOVE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. MUSICAL ROMANCE and MATRON PRILLI - coughing. DELIGHTED - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: SWEET PICKINGS - abnormal temperature. MODJADJI - declared a non-runner.
