SERIOUS REBEL jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. KING OF THE CORN jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with BANDEROS, which was restless in the stalls. TELEKINESIS became tightened for galloping room at about the 1000m, clipped the heels of GREGOR THE MONK and stumbled. An Inquiry will be opened regarding this incident. Jockey Domeyer, the rider of TELEKINESIS, did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that he felt something amiss with IMPRESSED in running. SWINGING CAPTAIN switched out to continue his run at the 250m. BANDEROS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Carstens rode SERIOUS REBEL. The Club's Medical Officer stood down Jockey du Plooy on medical grounds. Vet: IMPRESSED - returned not striding out. TELEKINESIS - returned not striding out on the left fore. Scratched: AROGANT - swollen hind leg. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
