MAJOR VAUGHAN was slow away losing half a length. GOTAGO (ZIM) was hanging in, in the final 800 metres. CARLA THE REBEL was hanging in, in the final 100 metres. Jockey Munger, the rider of AMAS AMAT, reported this horse did not run on and he suspected something amiss with this horse. Jockey Chambers, the rider of MAJOR VAUGHAN, reported this horse lost both front shoes during the running, and he suspected it was lame right fore. NEWTON POWER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NIMBLE DANCER raced with alumites on. Vet: AMAS AMAT - reported not running on, and was examined after the race and nothing untoward found. MAJOR VAUGHAN - examined after the race, both front shoes were missing and it was lame on the right fore leg. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
