Apprentice Mxothwa did not ride at today's meeting (travel complications). ALONE AT LAST and QEYAADAH (AUS) were both slow into stride. ALONE AT LAST was difficult to load. CHAP TRAP stumbled leaving the stalls losing 4 lengths. OCEAN DRIVE SOUTH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CHAP TRAP stumbled badly as the start was effected, almost unseating Jockey de Melo. As a result Jockey de Melo's left foot slipped from the stirrup iron. He was unable to regain it and rode the remainder of the race without either of his feet in the stirrup irons and as a result was unable to assist his mount. In view of the incident at the start, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine CHAP TRAP. QEYAADAH (AUS), racing green, ducked out sharply approaching the 400 metre mark resulting in SAILOR MALAN having to be steadied of the heels of QEYAADAH (AUS). GOLDEN BALL, LEGEND, PRINCE ARIANO and RESTLESS ROGUE all raced green. The change of Ownership of GOLDEN BALL should read: Messrs R Calder & S J Brewer. Colours remain the same.
