Jockey Herholdt (medically indisposed), Jockey Lerena (flight complications), Jockey Mariba (family responsibility) and Apprentice Ngwane (flight complications) did not ride at today's race meeting. They were replaced on their mounts. VARS PRIDE lost 3 lengths. CAVALERO stood and lost many lengths. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn and it was suspended for a period of 7 days and until recertified tractable. The Stipendiary Board called a race review into the start of this race and it was established that VARS PRIDE, in stall gate number 11, was restless in the stalls, however, this gelding's starting stall gate opened on terms and was not impeded by the handler and therefore declared VARS PRIDE to be a runner. Trainer Kenny was requested to report back on the condition of VARS PRIDE on return to the stables. Workrider Jevu signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse CYBER BELL unnecessarily when it was out of contention for a place. He was suspended from riding in one (1) workriders' race. Workrider Jonase signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse AQUABUOY unnecessarily when it was out of contention for a place. He was suspended from riding in one (1) workriders' race. WINTER REBEL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CAVALERO - coughing. MISSISSIPPI RISING - speedy cut left hind.
