Apprentice Godden did not ride at today's meeting (medically indisposed). Jockey Storey did not ride at today's meeting (family responsibility). Jockey Khumalo did not ride at today's meeting (flight complications). Jockey Nyawo did not ride in Race 4 (transport problems). MISTY BIRNAM was very stubborn to load. ALABAMA SLAMMA, MISTY BIRNAM and OGILVY were all slow into stride. RED CHESNUT ROAD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MARRON jumped outwards at the start making contact with LEE'S STAR, resulting in COUNT PHILIP, who had been slow into stride, being squeezed out. MARRON was switched in to obtain a clear run approaching the 400 metre mark. Thereafter ALABAMA SLAMMA shifted in slightly, resulting in MARRON becoming cramped and having to be switched out to obtain a clear run. CHAP TRAP was hanging in throughout. CUPKING was hanging out throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. COUNT PHILIP and MISTY BIRNAM both raced green. In view of the Starter's report concerning MISTY BIRNAM, the starting stall certificate for this colt has been withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. Vet: CUPKING - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: BARON BELLET - elevated temperature.
