VIVA LA VAR and PIANO MAN were both slow into stride. TRIP TEASE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. VIVA LA VAR stumbled leaving the stalls. In view of the performance of VIVA LA VAR, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. VIVA LA VAR returned post-race having cast the left fore shoe. JADE BAY and VARBRATION brushed at approximately the 300 metre mark. JADE BAY was hanging in and shifted in slightly, simultaneously VARBRATION shifted out, resulting in JADE BAY being eased off the heels of VARBRATION at approximately the 100 metre mark. Vet: PIANO MAN - mouth injury. STAMPEDE - abnormal respiratory noise. VIVA LA VAR - nothing obvious detected.
