CLASSIC DAY 02 APRIL MAIDEN PLATE

During the canter past LET IT RAIN bolted with Apprentice Ngcobo on board. This gelding was brought in hand by Apprentice Ngcobo at the 1400m and was returned to the start where it was examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race which caused a delay to the start of this race. LET IT RAIN, UMTHETHO and SIR NATHAN lost one length. JOHNNIE FOR POPS was bumped outwards at the 600m by DETONATION which was carried out by SIR NATHAN, which shifted out. Jockey Habib was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of SIR NATHAN, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DETONATION and JOHNNIE FOR POPS when he switched out at the 600m. Jockey Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a Warning was imposed. LET IT RAIN was carried in at the 600m by GO FLY A KITE (AUS), which shifted in marginally.
