Apprentice Habib did not ride at tonight's meeting (Medically indisposed). Jockey Sturgeon did not ride in Race 1 due to a delayed flight from Johannesburg. The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to attend to the left fore shoe of BURFI at the start. VIETNAM was slow into stride. EL MAGI flyjumped on two occasions leaving the stalls losing one length. DUMA lost two lengths. NALA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LE MONDE was hanging in, in the latter stages. ROYAL VISIONAIRE shifted in slightly near the 800 metre mark resulting in AGUSTINA having to be eased and losing position. Apprentice Hewitson, the rider of ROYAL VISIONAIRE, appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to allow more room and ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in races in future. Vet: BURFI - cut into right fore. Scratched: QUEEN'S CREST - coughing.
