CHASING THE SUN and YELLOW SUBMARINE were slow into stride. STRAW MAN jumped outwards at the start carrying VIENTO out, resulting in VIENTO being slow into stride. YELLOW SUBMARINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Kotzen will be questioned with regard to the improved performance of YELLOW SUBMARINE compared to this gelding's previous performances. DAFFIQ, racing green, shifted in approaching the 250 metre mark, carrying OMEGA ONSLAUGHT inwards. Thereafter at approximately the 150 metre mark OMEGA ONSLAUGHT, hanging out, shifted out slightly carrying DAFFIQ outwards. Jockey Sturgeon reported that CHASING THE SUN took no interest in running. Apprentice Godden reported that SHOOT THE BULL was making an abnormal respiratory noise in running. VIENTO raced green. SHOOT THE BULL returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. ROYAL BODYGUARD raced with a tongue tie. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey Kennedy stood down after the running of this Race due to cervical muscle spasm. Unable to continue riding. Vet: CHASING THE SUN - nothing obvious detected. SHOOT THE BULL - coughing. After the running of Race 2, and after consultation with the riders and the Racing Operator Representative the going was changed to soft.
