The start of this Race was delayed as a result of SHE'S A FORTRESS breaking through the front gates and cantering to the 800 metre mark, and ROYAL PLEASURE breaking open the front gates and being restrained by the handler. SHE'S A FORTRESS cantered to the 800 metre mark and thereafter was returned to the start. All horses were removed from the starting stalls. SHE'S A FORTRESS, ROYAL PLEASURE and SWEET PAINTED LADY were examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and declared fit to race. The field was re-loaded. FABERGE STYLE and CLEAR SAILING were slow into stride. CLEAR SAILING and FREE STATE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FABERGE STYLE was hanging out throughout. In view of the performance of GENIAL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: GENIAL - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: BRIGTNUMBERFOUR - no transport.
