The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay from the previous race. ALPINE RIDGE and QUEEN'S BEACH were slow into stride. NIGHTINGALE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ROYAL TREE shifted out slightly shortly after the start making contact and carrying PEACE AGAIN outwards, who in turn made contact with SECRET SEVEN. A tiring PEACE AGAIN was forced to ease approaching the 150 metre mark off the heels of NIGHTINGALE. Thereafter approaching the 100 metre mark NIGHTINGALE, hanging in, shifted in slightly which resulted in SECRET SEVEN having to shift in slightly, away from NIGHTINGALE, and carrying SUPREME DYNASTY inwards. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of NIGHTINGALE, appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future. PEACE AGAIN was pulling hard in the early stages. VOGUE IDEA was hanging in, in the straight. Jockey Sturgeon reported QUEEN'S BEACH coughed at the pull up. Vet: QUEEN'S BEACH - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: FANTASY LADY - change of surface.
