SAIL SOUTH was slow into stride. TUSCAN (ARG) and STOLEN DESTINY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Forbes reported that he felt something amiss with ROYAL ARMOUR in running and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. Jockey Kennedy reported that NIGHT SHADOW was not striding out freely in running and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. Jockey de Melo, the rider of SURREY, accidentally dropped his crop near the 300 metre mark. TUSCAN (ARG) shifted in slightly approaching the 900 metre mark, resulting in STOLEN DESTINY being cramped and steadied. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Lerena, rider of the second placed horse, STOLEN DESTINY, against the winner, TUSCAN (ARG), on the grounds of interference at approximately the 1000 metre mark. The Objection Board after hearing all the evidence was of the opinion that this incident did not affect the result of the race and therefore over-ruled the Objection, refunded the deposit and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Vet: ROYAL ARMOUR - not striding out right fore. NIGHT SHADOW - nothing obvious detected. Assistant Trainer von Niebel, acting on behalf of Trainer van Zyl, advised to report back. SURREY - cut right nostril.
