ONE O WON lost 2 lengths. ROY'S VACATION and TOWER both lost 1 length. ROY'S FLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Naidoo was questioned regarding the improved performance of ROY'S FLY, the winner, compared to this gelding's previous form. He explained to the Board that this gelding had only transferred to his yard in the New Year and that he had been racing him over longer distances, where he had raced handy and had compounded. Following an improved showing on the 30th March over 1400 metres he had decided to further reduce the distance to today's distance of 1200 metres. This coupled with the fact that ROY'S FLY was dropped in off the pace had, in his opinion, accounted for the improved performance. He was advised to race this gelding over similar distances and in a similar manner in future. The future performances of ROY'S FLY will be monitored. KING JOFRY over-raced in the early stages. IMAGINATION was hanging in, in the latter stages. ONE O WON hesitated and jumped a shadow near the 100 metre mark and as a result shifted out carrying ROY'S FLY and IMAGINATION outwards. Scratched: WILBER - virus. STRAW MAN - Urticaria.
