CAT IN COMMAND lost 2 lengths. KING OF TORTS lost 1 length. AUCTION KING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Sturgeon reported that GREAT RUMPUS was not striding out freely in running. Jockey Marcus reported that he felt something amiss with NEBULA in running. Due to the performance of OH BOY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. MACKDESI (AUS) was pulling hard in the early stages, difficult to restrain. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into the start of the race. After reviewing the patrol videos of the start the Stipendiary Board was of the view that CAT IN COMMAND was impeded by the Handler slipping in front of Jockey Randolph as the start was effected resulting in him being unbalanced and losing his footing out of the stirrup iron which he only regained shortly thereafter. CAT IN COMMAND was declared a non-runner. Vet: GREAT RUMPUS - not striding out left fore. NEBULA and OH BOY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: CAT IN COMMAND - declared a non-runner. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
