MARIGOLD SUN (+B Mlangeni) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
QUEEN BOMI (+T Baase) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
As the start was effected MATILDAROCKBOTTOM (+S Siphika) was unruly and reared badly. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (GT).
In view of the Starter's report with regard to MATILDAROCKBOTTOM, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 07.08.20 to the 13.08.20. MATILDAROCKBOTTOM may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised.
Work Rider T Matsoele reported ST JOSEPH'S LILY (ZIM) did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
MEET THE CAPTAIN (+C Mabaya) shifted out away from crop at the 300m.
A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board with regard to MATILDAROCKBOTTOM (+S Siphika) in stall gate 14, where it was established that MATILDAROCKBOTTOM was restless in the stalls and reared as the start was effected. The actions of this filly were due to her own behaviour and therefore the Stipendiary Board declared MATILDAROCKBOTTOM to be a runner.
GYPSY WOMAN (+N Ngqwangi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Machaeli, acting on behalf of Trainer D Sham, advised (DR).
Work Rider N Ngqwangi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse GYPSY WOMAN more than 12 times with his crop in the entire race. Work Rider N Ngqwangi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Workrider race. Date of Suspension: 17 August 2017.
MERRYWOOD raced equipped with ear muffs (declared 31 July 2020 at 16H39).
MATILDAROCKBOTTOM: Work Rider S Siphika weighed out at 58.7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
QUEEN BOMI: Work Rider T Baase weighed out at 59.1kg, 1kg over the carded weight.
Work Rider T Baase was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse QUEEN BOMI, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Work Rider T Baase signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Workrider race. Date of Suspension: 17 August 2017.
